Vocations – Reimagining the Lied | Premieres of New Art Songs (Kunstlieder)
On the 26th of October 2023, the first premieres of “Vocations – Reimagining the Lied” took place in the Heimathafen Neukölln. Poet and prose writer Avrina Prabala-Joslin (born 1992 in Tamil Nadu) and composer and singer Sol-i So (born 1990 in South Korea) jointly developed the song “after you, I learned to plant a poem, grow a song” for soprano and drums, which is premiered by Angelika Luz and Rie Watanabe.
Vocations is an event of the House for Poetry in cooperation with JUNGE AKADEMIE, Akademie der Künste, Berlin, Kulturstiftung Schloss Wiepersdorf and Heimathafen Neukölln and is funded by the Senate Department for Culture and Social Cohesion of the State of Berlin.
